HealthVitae helps users organize personal health records, upload health-related documents, receive AI-assisted summaries, manage reminders, and review wellness insights. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when it may be shared, and the choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
- Account information such as your email address, password hash, display name, language preference, and avatar.
- Health-related information that you choose to add, including records, symptoms, medications, measurements, meal data, reminders, and uploaded files.
- AI interaction content, such as questions you send to HealthVitae, files you attach, and generated outputs or summaries.
- Billing and purchase records, including top-ups, usage ledger items, purchase status, and fraud-prevention metadata.
- Technical and operational data such as device type, app version, log data, and basic error diagnostics needed to keep the service working.
2. Camera, Photos, and File Access
On Android and iOS, HealthVitae may request access to your camera, photo library, notifications, or documents only when you use related features. For example, camera access is used if you choose to photograph a meal or health document for analysis. We do not access these items unless you initiate that action.
3. How We Use Information
- Provide and operate the app, including account login, uploads, reminders, timelines, and exports.
- Generate AI-assisted health summaries, care-prep notes, food analysis, and wellness suggestions that you request.
- Process purchases, AI credit balances, support adjustments, refunds, and reconciliation events.
- Improve reliability, prevent fraud or abuse, troubleshoot failures, and maintain security.
- Send account-related communications such as verification codes, password resets, or important service notices.
4. AI and Health Guidance
HealthVitae is an educational and organizational tool. It is not a medical provider, does not diagnose conditions, and does not replace a clinician. If you ask for AI analysis, selected information may be processed by third-party AI providers configured by HealthVitae or by a provider you connect yourself. You should avoid using HealthVitae as your only source of information for urgent or high-risk situations.
5. When We Share Information
- With infrastructure or software vendors that help us operate the service, such as hosting, storage, email, or AI processing providers.
- With payment or app-store platforms when needed to verify purchases and prevent fraud.
- When required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect users, the service, or the public from harm.
- With your direction, such as when you export or share your health information.
6. Data Retention
We keep data for as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Some local device data, cached results, or uploaded files may persist for a period after creation unless you remove them or delete your account data.
7. Your Controls
- You can review and edit many records directly inside the app.
- You can export account data from the privacy controls area when available.
- You can request account cleanup or deletion features available within the app.
- You can disable permissions such as camera or notifications from your device settings.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect data. No service can guarantee absolute security, and you should use a strong password and keep your device secure.
9. Children's Privacy
HealthVitae is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without appropriate authorization.
10. International Use
HealthVitae may process information in countries other than where you live. By using the service, you understand that data may be transferred to and stored in locations where our servers or service providers operate.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may update the date above and provide additional notice where appropriate.
